Our team is committed to making a positive impact in young athletes and families in the Denver community. Founded in 2006 by Scott Vatter, our team of instructors has dedicated much of their lives to the game through their playing career and into coaching. These passionate instructors coach with integrity to ultimately help us guide our youth baseball and softball players to grow in skills, character, confidence and leadership.

Ty Jacobs, HitStreak

General Manager

General Manager of HitStreak and Current Head Varsity Coach at Rock Canyon High School, Ty Jacobs is a Colorado native who has been around the game of baseball his whole life. He has coached at almost all levels and has the ability to work with players of any age. Get to Know Ty.

  • Ty is a Colorado native who has been around the game of baseball his whole life. His grandfather played baseball at Oklahoma (OU) and his father played Collegiately/ Professionally so Ty has been around the game since he could pick up a bat. He has coached at almost all levels and has the ability to work with players of any age!

Baseball Youth Director

B.J. Kingsbaker has dedicated more than 25 years to serving the Colorado baseball and softball community. He currently serves as the head softball coach at Rock Canyon High School after a seven-year tenure at Smoky Hill. He inspires athletes to reach their full potential while fostering an environment of support and accountability. Get to Know B.J.

  • Originally from Aurora, Colorado, B.J. Kingsbaker has dedicated more than 25 years to serving the Colorado baseball and softball community. Most recently, he led youth instruction at the Marucci Clubhouse in Castle Rock, where he designed and implemented an 8-week mental training course for young athletes and served as a summer team instructor.

    A veteran coach with over two decades of experience at the varsity level, Kingsbaker currently serves as the head softball coach at Rock Canyon High School. In his first season, he guided the team to a state tournament appearance. His previous coaching stops include Grandview, Smoky Hill, and Pueblo West High Schools.

    During his seven-year tenure as head coach at Smoky Hill, Kingsbaker led the program to back-to-back Centennial League championships, qualifying for the playoffs each season and compiling an impressive 99–46 overall record. His coaching career has been marked by consistent success, player development, and team growth.

    Off the field, Kingsbaker is a Business and Marketing teacher at Smoky Hill High School. Over the past 15 years, he has built nationally recognized DECA and Speech & Debate programs, mentoring more than 175 national qualifiers and producing 17 individual state champions.

    Kingsbaker is known as a passionate and driven coach who fiercely advocates for his players. His coaching philosophy emphasizes attention to detail, skill development, and building a positive, team-first culture. He inspires athletes to reach their full potential while fostering an environment of support, accountability, and inclusion.

Originally from California, Daron moved to Colorado in 1996 and attended Heritage High School where he is currently the Varsity Head Girls Softball Coach. After a successful college playing career, he has also coached high school baseball at Heritage and Rock Canyon. Get to Know Daron.

  • Daron has been around baseball his whole life. Originally from California, Daron moved to Colorado in 1996 and attended Heritage High School. He lives with his wife Danielle and has two beautiful daughters Payton and Kynlee. Daron currently works for the Highlands Ranch Metro District and enjoys golfing in his limited spare time. Daron also heads up HitStreak's brand new Fastpitch Organization!

Cheyenne currently works for the Colorado Rockies fulfilling her dream of working in the MLB. In addition to a successful high school and college softball playing and coaching career, she recently completed her Master’s Degree at Colorado State University. Get to Know Cheyenne.

Trevor Welling

  • Trevor is a Colorado native, born and raised in Parker. He has been playing baseball from the age of 4 until his freshman year of college where he played at Midland University in Nebraska. He has a deep passion for the game itself and its history. Trevor is a recent graduate of Metro State in Denver with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in anthropology. His dream is to work in a Smithsonian institute!. Trevor’s coaching goal is to grow the game of baseball through the young ball players coming up.

Yvette Hendrian

  • Yvette is a social studies teacher and softball coach at Eaglecrest High School. She is married to her husband Matthew and has two daughters, Alex and Kaitlyn. When not coaching or instructing, Yvette enjoys traveling and spending time with her family

Dean Adams

  • Coach Adams has been coaching high school baseball for over 3 decades with over 20 years as a Head Varsity Coach.

    He started his teaching and coaching career at Hinkley HS in Aurora and then moved over to Grandview in 2004. He was the head varsity coach from 2004-2015.  After that, he helped out at ThunderRidge and Rock Canyon high schools.

    Dean has had the pleasure of coaching several players that went on to play college baseball. Two of his players even made it to the big leagues! (Greg Bird, Yankees, and Kevin Gausman, Blue Jays)

    Dean loves being around young men and helps provide them the tools to become a better baseball player, AND a better person.

Thomas Rutherford

  • Thomas brings a wealth of baseball experience and passion to HitStreak. After growing up in Colorado, his career has taken him to multiple stops across the country both playing and coaching and now has returned to his home state and currently coaches at Eaglecrest High School.

Cutter Smith

Sean Jarrett
  • Cutter is a Colorado native and former multi-time All-State pitcher who has played at the collegiate and professional levels.

    Following high school, Cutter pitched at Adams State University (Division II) before transferring to Tabor College, where he continued his success on the mound.

    After college, Cutter signed professionally in the Pecos League, pitching for the Trinidad Triggers (2024) and Garden City Wind (2025). Across two professional seasons, he compiled an 11-2 record over 107.1 IP with 116 strikeouts and a 4.02 ERA, including a standout 2025 campaign where he was named Pecos League Mountain Division Pitcher of the Year (8-0, 3.64 ERA, 61 strikeouts in 59.1 IP).

    Cutter currently continues to pursue professional baseball while coaching and developing pitchers. His instruction focuses on pitching mechanics, strength, and player development, with additional work in hitting.

    Playing Experience:

    • Bennett High School — 4-year varsity starter, 1st Team All-Conference & All-State (all 4 years), state-leading .632 BA (sophomore year)

    • Adams State University (DII) — Starting Pitcher

    • Tabor College — 18-5 record across 2 seasons. All-Conference honors in both 2023 and 2024, and helping lead the team to an Opening Round Regional Championship appearance.

    • Pecos League — Trinidad Triggers (2024), Garden City Wind (2025), 2025 Mountain Division Pitcher of the Year

Sean Jarrett

  • Colorado-born Sean went from playing high school in the small town of Limon to world-traveling professional pitcher before settling back here in Centennial. His days are spent navigating the fields of finance and real estate, while his evenings are a whirlwind of chasing his three energetic boys, helping develop future major-leaguers, smoking meats and transforming houses one room at a time. If Sean could pick a superpower, he'd choose teleportation - because there's never enough time in the day.

Matt Blackwood

  • Matt grew up in the Highlands Ranch area where he pitched at Highlands Ranch High School before heading off to South Mountain Community College in Arizona. Matt currently teaches and coaches at Rock Canyon high school. Matt enjoys the outdoors and hanging out with his dog Ellie.

Nick Gile
  • Leah is from Vermont and recently graduated from Russell Sage College in Albany, New York with a B.S. in Psychology. She is currently studying at the University of Denver in the Counseling Psychology program.

    • 6 years of travel softball for various teams in Massachusetts and Vermont

Leah Madore

Nick Gile

  • Nick is from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, where he won back-to-back high school state championships before continuing on to lead Madison College (JUCO) to back-to-back NJCAA DII World Series appearances. He finished his college career at Illinois State University before signing as a free agent with the Colorado Rockies. Nick played two years as a professional infielder in the Rockies system. He has been around some great hitting minds, such as Eugene Bleecker and the team at 108 Performance. During his professional stint, he and his former Madison College hitting coach (currently the Red Sox AA hitting coach) ran offseason camps and lessons in Wisconsin to teach and give back to athletes in the state. Nick moved to Colorado in the summer of 2025, where he enjoys snowboarding and being outdoors.
