In 2002, Matt moved to Denver and began working at Ridge View Academy as a coach counselor, eventually becoming the Head Baseball Coach. His passion for baseball, mentoring young people, and coaching ultimately led him to start his own business as a counselor for at-risk youth. Today, Matt serves as the Head Coach for 18U Hitstreak, an assistant with Eaglecrest High School Baseball, and the Spartans Youth Club Baseball Director.
Coach Matt strongly believes in valuing the process over outcomes and in working hard when no one else is watching. His counseling background is fundamental in helping athletes overcome adversity, learn from failure, and build on their achievements—both on and off the field.
Matt’s wife, Erica, is his biggest supporter. Together, they have three children: Aiden, Zak, and Livia.
Coach Matt’s motto—passed down from his dad—says it all: Keep Swinging!
