Ryan Barry founded Prospects Universe after living the recruiting process firsthand as a pitcher at the University of Tampa. As a freshman in high school he weighed 115 pounds and threw 65 mph — invisible to every college coach in the country. Over four years he gained 65 pounds and 22 mph through relentless training, weight room work, and a complete mechanical overhaul in the winter of his junior year. By senior fall he was throwing 87 mph, had offers on the table, and committed to the University of Tampa. He built Prospects Universe so no talented player gets left behind simply because the process evaluated them too early.
