2025 Colorado High School Baseball State Champions Crowned
Cherry Creek Repeats as 5A Champs, Coal Ridge and Akron Win First State Titles
The 2025 Colorado High School baseball season is now in the books, after a thrilling playoff run across all classifications.

At the 5A level, Cherry Creek won another title – remarkable on many fronts. Their 8-1 victory over Regis Jesuit at All-Star Park in Lakewood marked the program’s 10th State Championship, second in a row, and the first under new head coach Joe Smith, who took over following Marc Johnson’s legendary 52-year career.
The Bruins’ powerhouse roster features 7 Division I signees. University of Michigan commit Wyatt Rudden started the final game, going 5 innings and allowing just three hits and one run. The lineup also includes first baseman Connor Larkin, who was just named Baseball's Gatorade Player of the Year for Colorado.
The Golden High School Demons won the 4A Title, topping Cheyenne Mountain 5-1 in the championship game. It was Golden’s second title, and the first since 2003.
Coal Ridge outlasted the University Bulldogs 3-2 to take the 3A title, just one game after University won a 14-inning duel by the same score. For the Titans, it’s their first ever state title and ended the four-year reign of Eaton.
In 2A, Forge Christian took home their fourth baseball championship as the #1 Seed Fury to a convincing 11-0 win over Denver Christian.
And in 1A, Akron came away with the school’s first baseball state title with an 8-7 victory over Flatirons Academy, just a year after Akron came up just short as the state runner up.
