Our Fall Program Philosophy
Our Fall season is built around five core principles: Growth Mindset, Resiliency, Hustle, Exposure, and Development. These principles guide every practice, every game, and every interaction as we prepare our athletes for long-term success both on and off the field.
Growth Mindset
We believe that improvement comes from learning. Mistakes and failures are opportunities to grow, not reasons to quit. Setbacks will not define us—they will motivate us to work harder, prepare with greater purpose, and compete with more determination. Every player is expected to embrace the process of continuous learning and improvement.
Resiliency
Baseball is a game of adversity, and resilient players respond with confidence and composure. Our players and coaches will show up every day with a positive attitude, ready to work, support one another, and move forward regardless of the previous day's results. We will respect each other, stay accountable, and focus on what we can control.
Hustle
Hustle is non-negotiable. We will play with positive energy and urgency—not panic—in every practice and every game. We hustle everywhere: during practices, during games, to our positions, during warm-ups, and especially while running the bases.
Exposure
Our coaching staff is committed to preparing our players for the next level. We provide instruction, competition, and opportunities that help players understand the expectations of collegiate baseball. Our goal is to expose our athletes to college-level standards, competition, and recruiting opportunities whenever possible.
Development
Player development is our daily mission. Every practice is designed to improve baseball mechanics, increase baseball IQ, and prepare players to compete with confidence. We are committed to helping each athlete become a more complete player through intentional instruction, repetition, and competitive training.
FALL SEASON OVERVIEW

Coaches:
Coach Matt Segovia combines a strong playing background with more than two decades of coaching and mentoring young athletes. A three-year varsity letterman and All-Conference selection at Broken Arrow High School in Oklahoma, Matt went on to play four years of collegiate baseball before moving to Colorado. He has served as a high school coach, youth baseball director, and counselor for at-risk youth, bringing a unique perspective to player development. Today, he is the Head Coach of 18U HitStreak, an assistant coach with Eaglecrest High School Baseball, and the Spartans Youth Club Baseball Director. Coach Matt believes in valuing the process over the outcome, embracing adversity, and helping athletes grow both on and off the field. His guiding motto is simple: "Keep Swinging!"
Coach Wayne Burton brings decades of playing and coaching experience to HitStreak. A standout at Mitchell High School, he earned All-Conference honors as both a junior and senior along with Honorable Mention All-State recognition. He continued his career at Colby Community College before finishing at Fort Hays State University, where he helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Division II National Championship game, earned All-Conference and All-West Region honors, and was later inducted into the Fort Hays State Hall of Fame as a member of the 2000 team. Wayne has coached competitive baseball with Bardo's Diamond Sports, Cherry Creek Little League, the Aurora Mustangs, Prime Collegiate, and now HitStreak where he is committed to helping players develop both on and off the field.
